BETTY DALSING
An Oklahoman, Betty Dalsing paints the local landscape as well as painting, sketching, and photographing during her extensive travels. Many of her paintings are done en plein air and offer an impressionistic rendering with strong value contrasts.
When painting a landscape, she looks for a scene that will allow the viewer ‘to walk into the painting’.
Betty has enjoyed a lifetime interest in and appreciation of art and came to painting after concluding a busy career. She has studied with noted impressionist artists and continues to study and learn. Her medium is primarily oil but she also loves the rich colors of pastel and works with those as well. Known for her skillful knife paintings, these highlight her keen observation of value variations and provide rich, clean color and texture.
